Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Authorized King James Version

Memories

Memories can be pleasant or then again not so pleasant. Well I usually chose to dwell on the pleasant ones. This morning I kept thinking of a memory of advise given me by a pastor when I was first dealing with some of the abuse that was done to me in the years of high school days. At first I didn't think I could do what he asked or suggested. His advise was PRAY for those that abused you. Well I told him I didn't know if I could do that. He suggested to pray for their family members first if I couldn't pray for them. It was good advise. There are sometime when the unpleasant memories return briefly. It is then a good time to again pray, pray, and pray some more.

When Jesus Comes

I have been thinking about this song the past week I haven't heard it in years.

Listen to: When Jesus Comes

I (Sally) was that one setting beside the highway begging, but PRAISE GOD JESUS CAME.
I praise God for the day He reached down and picked me up and cleansed me by His precious blood.  I came to know the Saviour in 1960.  I had the privilege of counseling twice for Billy Graham association.  The first time in Minnesota at a Billy Graham crusade and the second time in Oakland, CA in a Joe Blinko crusade.
My real name isn't Sally Martin, but it is a name I choose to hid myself at times.  On Oct. 12th I wrote a blog titled "Abuse should not happen" click the word Abuse under Labels on my side bar to read that entry. There was several times when I took a room at the YWCA in the city I was living in, because two of the abusers knew where I lived and I wanted to be in a safe place.  Once my husband suggested maybe moving back to that area, but we didn't because of the faces of the past.

Abuse should not happen

Abuse should Not be allowed to happen.
In my profile I told you I had been abused. Just a brief statement about that period in my life. Sally's Jr high and Sr high school days were what I can only call a nightmare. A boy at school started abusing me and said if I told anyone something would happen to my younger brother and/or my Dad. My Mother had passed away so I had no one I thought I could talk to. During this time of high school two other men also abused me. Anyone reading this please tell someone right away if this happens to you. No one should get away with abuse. Also no one should have to put up with abuse, because of threats made against you or your loved ones. It hurts you the rest of your life even when you have forgiven. Also keep your loved ones away from your abuser. If they will abuse you they will abuse your loved ones and others I believe. High school was in deed a nightmare, but with God's help I have forgiven those who abused me, and lost the bitterness I felt so deeply for so long. God has helped me to turn this terrible experience into something that has helped me to share with others who have been abused. When someone does something to you as terrible as abuse and you are not at fault know that God knows that. I have wondered if I should share this. I talked with my niece and she has encouraged me to share.
