Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Safe in the Arms of Jesus

Safe in the arms of Jesus, Safe on His gentle breast, There by His
love o'ershaded, Sweetly my soul shall rest. Hark! 'tis the voice of
angels, Borne in a song to me, Over the fields of glory,
Over the jasper sea.

Refrain:
Safe in the arms of Jesus, Safe on His gentle breast, There by His love o'er shaded, Sweetly my soul shall rest.

Safe in the arms of Jesus, Safe from corroding care, Safe from the
world's temptations, Sin cannot harm me there. Free from the blight of
sorrow, Free from my doubts and fears; Only a few more trials,
only a few more tears!

Jesus, my heart's dear refuge, Jesus has died for me: Firm on the
Rock of Ages, Ever my trust shall be, Here let me wait with patience, Wait till the night is o'er; Wait till I see the morning
Break on the golden shore.

I often remind myself to crawl up on Jesus lap and just let me be held in His Strong arms. His strong arms of love around me is always such a comfort. There were two days this week when I took myself off His lap and I was stressed to the max. Yesterday I had my hair done. Darnel, my hairdresser a sweet sweet Christian lady and I were talking and I had shared how stressed I felt. I was sharing concerns I have for our daughter having some health problems. She so sweetly reminded me "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" ll Timothy 1:7. There is nothing I can do, but pray and trust God will use the Doctors to perform the needed surgery that will bring about her healing.

  1. Great to see your blog, and your sincere sharing about your struggles. This posting caught my eye today because of the quotation of Fanny Crosby's gospel song "Safe the in Arms of Jesus."

Some seem to think she was referring to the departed believer being safe in heaven. But you have it right. The final stanza shows she has the Lord's loving care here and now in view, as we look forward to heaven.

I write a daily blog on the hymns we sing and their authors. I encourage you to check out Wordwise Hymns. I believe you'd find it a blessing.
