Freedom
I was thinking of how much I personally enjoy freedom. It is great to live in a country that is free. It is wonderful to be free to make the friends of my own choice, free to worship as God leads me to, free to pretty much make my own schedule for a day. Freedom to travel throughout our great USA without getting permits to go from one region to another. That reminds me of a song, I know everything reminds me of a song.
DON'T FENCE ME IN
Oh, give me land lots of land under starry skies above, don't fence me in
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love, don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evening breeze,
Listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees,
Send me off forever, but don't fence me in.
Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle underneath the western skies,
On my cay-use let me wander over yonder till I see the mountain rise.
I want to ride to the ridge where the West commences,
Gaze at the moon till I lose my senses;
Can't look at hobbles and I can't stand fences, don't fence me in.
Definitions:
Cayuse: "Indian horses came to be named "Cayuses" because the Indians of that Oregon name were large breeders of animals.
hobbles: A device put around the legs of animals to hamper, but not prevent movement.
As I was thinking of that song I also thought of several Bible verses that are precious to me.
John 8:31, 32 & 36
8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed. 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
The Son is truth praise God I am free through His shed blood on Calvary. His blessed Holy Spirit drew me to Him.
