Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Handwrriting On the Wall

A weary mother returned from the store. lugging groceries
through the kitchen door.
A waiting her arrival was her eight year old son, anxious to relate
what his younger brother had done.

While I was out playing and Dad was on a call, T. J. took his
crayons and wrote on the wall
It's on the new paper you just hung in the den. I told him you'd be
mad at having to do it again.

She let out a moan and furrowed her brow, "Where is your
little brother right now?"
She emptied her arms and with a purposeful stride she marched to his closet where he had gone to hide.

She called his full name as she entered his room. He trembled with fear--he knew that meant doom
For the next ten minutes, she ranted and raved about the expensive wallpaper and how she had saved.

Lamenting all the work it would take to repair, she condemed his action and total lack of care.
The more she scolded, the madder she got, then stomped from his room, totally distraught.

She headed for the den to confirm her fears when she saw the wall, her eyes flooded with tears.
The message she read pierced her soul with a dart. It said, "I love Mommy", surrounded by a heart.

Well, the wallpaper remained, just as she found it, with and empty picture frame hung to surround it.
A reminder to her, and indeed to all: "Take time to read the handwriting on the wall."

Christian Fellowship, Cleaning, Friends

This week has been a fun week so far. I invited a friend to go for coffee yesterday (Wednesday) morning. We had such sweet fellowship around our Lord. Then she invited me to go to a neighboring town. We got a lot done that we each needed to do. We laughed a lot. Aren't friends wonderful. Tuesday I attended a Bible study with other ladies and my husband attended a Men's Fellowship. This morning our YAH group (Young AT Heart) meets. We roll bandages for missionaries. How blessed I am to have friends and Christian Fellowship. I praise God for both. Now when this afternoon arrives I need to get down to some cleaning. I got my ironing and laundry all caught up, but in this past week I have found three dust bunnies. (That's bad news) Yesterday a neighbor helped my husband lift two window air conditioners into place.

Laughter

Do you like to hear the sound of laughter. I love that sound. It is really good for us also. Last night I had the joy of being able to attend a Mother's - Daughter's get together and supper at my dear friends Patty's church. The speaker for the evening was Edna Thayer, she co authored a book with Mary Huntley entitled "A Mirthful Spirit". The book sounds very interesting an I wished I would have had the $10 reduced price for the evening to buy it. It sells for $18.95 normally. The Bible tells us that "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." I especially love the laughter of children. There are just some people that it is easy to share laughter with. A good belly laugh exercises the muscle around us as we shake with laughter. Sometimes there are periods of tears in our life. Last night was one of those times for my dear friend. The grief of just losing her Mom was hard and yes there were some tears, because of that very fresh grief she has. I was glad I could hold her and let her cry, because of precious memories. She also shared in the laughter and she and I shared some of the things about her Mom that made her so precious and also funny expressions that made us laugh as we talked about her Mom. I challenge you start laughing at yourself and make someone else laugh today.

This precious little guy (Sidney) called and told me "Happy Mother's Day I Love You" Monday night. We plan to go for a visit in August. He keeps growing so fast. He is my youngest grandson. Children truly are a gift from God.

Awesome God

Awesome God
Come, Thou Fount

Come , Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet Sung by flaming tongues above;
Praise the mount I'm fixed upon it Mount of Thy redeeming love.

Here I raise mine Ebenezer Hither by Thy help I'm come;
And I hope by Thy good pleasure Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger Wand'ring from the fold of God;
He to rescue me from danger Interposed His precious blood.

O to grace how great a debtor Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness like a fetter Bind my wand'ring heart to Thee:
Prone to wander Lord, I feel it Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart O take and seal it, Seal it for Thy courts above.

Ebenezer (stone of help)

I am always amazed that Jesus sought me when I was a stranger to Him, but He knew me and loved me even before the foundation of the world He loved me. On May 11 I will be 50 years old in the Lord. He did indeed rescue me (Sally) from danger. His precious blood was the required payment, nothing I could do. Thank You Precious Jesus!!! PRAISE MY AWESOME GOD!!!

Winter

Winter in May. Yes that's what I call last night. I planted 4 tomatoes and 4 peppers on April 30. Last night it froze here and they all died. We also noticed that the two apple trees both had brown blossoms this morning. So maybe no apples this year. We can replant the other things. I purchased some pole bean seeds while in Sioux Falls, SD on Friday. That was a cold windy day. I really had fun as I rode along with my friend and her husband. He had to go to the VA medical center and she had to see her foot doctor. She had a bunion removed some time ago so this was just a final check on how that was doing. I was completely worn out when we got home at 10:15 pm. We shopped in between appointments and on the way home, plus ate out twice and they won't let me pay for my meals. We left at 9:00 in the morning and I had only four hours of sleep Friday morning before going.

Spring II

Yesterday a neighbor rotor tilled a small garden area for us. Today I purchased 4 different tomato plants, 4 pepper plants, and two clematis. I was able to get everything planted. I will still have room for some pole beans, & onions. I can hear it raining as I write this. That is good. I have some flower seeds from my niece, Violet to plant also. I wish my body was as willing and anxious to do everything that my mind thinks I'm able to do. Oh well my spirit is young, but my body is less young. I'm excited because my brother and we are meeting Saturday. It will be good to see him again. Did I ever mentioned that I LOVE spring. Today I harvested rhubarb from the plants we planted last year. I made a rhubarb crisp today and invited three neighbors over for dessert tonight. I served ice cream with it. I had only a small bite without ice cream.
